Diocesan Agencies/Organizations - Diocesan Foundation Welcome to the web site for the Diocesan Foundation, a common investment fund available to churches and agencies of the Diocese of Chicago. The Foundation was organized on June 14, 1952 as a not-for-profit corporation under the Illinois General Not For Profit Corporation Act. At present, the Foundation’s sole activity is to operate a “collective” investment vehicle known as the Common Fund. The Foundation, however, does not render investment advice directly to investors in the Common Fund and is not registered as an investment adviser under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. Any decision to invest in the Common Fund rests solely with prospective investors. The Foundation and the Common Fund are governed by the Board in accordance with Canon 35A and the By-Laws. The fund is managed by six trustees who are elected by the unitholders. Quarterly statements are sent and dividends are paid to each unit holder in January, April, July and October. Board of Trustees
Officers The Rt. Rev. Jeffrey D. Lee, Bishop of Chicago, serves as the president of the corporation ex officio. Mr. Hauworth serves as vice president, and Mr. Christman serves as secretary, of the Foundation. In addition to serving a treasurer of the Diocese of Chicago, Keith W.
